Baptism
Baptism is an incredible gift, filling one with God’s grace and wiping away original sin.  Many parents seek baptism for a newborn child.  We are enhancing our pre-baptism preparations to help engage new parents in the life of the Church. Requests for infant baptisms will now follow the following process:

Step 1:  Call 315-252-9545 to set up an initial interview with Pastoral Minister Kathy Lipfert of St. Mary’s Church (feel free to contact prior to the baby’s birth!).

Step  2: The priest or deacon celebrating the baptism will then meet with both parents (if at all possible) at a time/location of mutual convenience (date of baptism will not be set before this meeting occurs)

Step 3:  Deacon Dennis Donahue will follow-up with the family at 3-month and 1-year intervals.

First Penance, First Eucharist, and Confirmation
Contact Carlo Stebbings, Director of Religious Education at Carlo.Stebbings@dor.org or (315) 252–3439 to enroll. More information available here.

[All children must be enrolled in Religious Education or Catholic School for two years prior to receiving First Penance, First Eucharist, or Confirmation.]

Anointing of the Sick
Please notify the Parish Office at 315-252-7593 if you or someone you know is sick, in the hospital, or unable to attend Mass. We can arrange for a visit at a time of mutual convenience. In case of pastoral emergency and you are not able to reach the Parish Office, please call St. Mary’s Church at 315-252-9545.

Sacrament of Matrimony
Arrangements should be made six months in advance at the Parish Office; attendance of Pre-Cana required. We generally offer Pre-Cana in April and October of each year at Nacca Hall.

Interested in becoming Catholic? Want to receive 1st Communion or Confirmation as an adult?
If you are a baptized Catholic who never received First Communion or Confirmation, or were never baptized and wish to join our faith community, you are welcome. If you know someone who might be considering becoming Roman Catholic, who is presently from another faith tradition, please invite them to consider the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). RCIA is a journey of faith with educational and prayerful experiences. Please contact Kathy Lipfert at 315-252-9545 or email her at Kathy.Lipfert@dor.org for more information.
